Why God Hates all (Man made) World Religions
The Bible is about a Father's love for His Son.
The Bible is about a Father's promise of a City for His Son
The Bible is about a Promised land for His Son
About a promised people for His Son
It's about a King and a Kingdom
It's about His Son
Jesus Christ
Religion denies, and rejects His Son
(I've never entered a home without permission, neither will you enter Heaven without His
acceptance! He does not have to accept us, but He says He will if we come to Him through His
Son Jesus Christ) Rom. 12:1-2
"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."
Are you in the Accepted?
Isaiah 1:11-17
"To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats. When ye come to appear before me, who hath required this at your hand, to tread my courts? Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting. Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear them. And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood. Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow."

I'm constantly being accused of condemning all religions
It is true that various world religions all address concepts like love, peace, and understanding. But that doesn't mean they have the same basic concepts. The various world religions are extremely different in their core beliefs. It's also true that we take the unpopular position that biblical Christianity is the only way to know God in this life, and the only way to live with Him in heaven after death. But the reason we take that position is because Jesus Himself made the claim, outrageous if it's not true, that He is God, that He came from heaven, and that He is the only way to God the Father: "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except by Me." That claim is absolutely CRAZY unless He really is God, and He really is the only way to be reconciled to God. Since He said He would be put to death and would come back to life, and then He did, He backed up His claim.
So we believe Him.
The Bible says "Let him who is without sin cast the first stone" true it does, but it's important to understand the context of Jesus' statement. It doesn't mean we are not to judge at all, it means we are not to point fingers at someone else's sin when we are guilty of the same thing. I'm afraid you have a misunderstanding about the Bible's statements about sex. God doesn't say sex is a sin. He invented sex and gave it to us as His gift, to be contained within the only safe place for it: marriage. Sex outside of marriage is sin; sex within marriage is His good gift to be enjoyed. Being conceived during sex (which has always been God's good plan) is not what makes us sinners; we are all sinners because we inherited a "nature" bent on sinning from our first father, Adam. This has nothing to do with sex.
I appreciate that you're bothered by religious people attempting to cram their beliefs down the throats of anyone else. Based on what I know of God's heart from reading all of His words, I think He's bothered by it too. He offers a quality of abundant life on earth, and the promise of life in heaven with Him, but He also says it is our choice to accept His offer or not. Nowhere in the Bible is there any hint that cramming religion is acceptable. That's because God wants to be in a love relationship with us, and force or manipulation are opposites of love.
See, all of us have a sin problem. We are sinners, and God is a holy God. Our sin keeps us from having a relationship with Him, and God can't allow any sin into heaven when we die. The different world religions have different solutions to the sin problem. Some of them deny that it exists, then they have a real problem explaining the evil in the world. Others suggest that enough good works can outweigh our sins, but they offer no proof that this is true--or even hint at how many is "enough." That's a terrible thing to be wrong about! We believe that because Jesus provided proof that He is God, we can trust what He said about being reconciled to God the Father through Himself as the only way.
Being so, God condemns all religions and only through His Son will one be accepted. Pastor Del Wray
"I hate, I despise your religious feasts; I cannot stand your assemblies. Even though you bring me burnt offerings and grain offerings, I will not accept them. Though you bring choice fellowship offerings, I will have no regard for them. Away with the noise of your songs! I will not listen to the music of your harps. But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!"

Our enemy is religion
There are more religions than there are different oil companies. Even among what is termed Christianity there are so many factions it is hard to count. Oil companies produce mostly the same thing. Religions are as different as night and day. Few agree with each other on most things. When there are different beliefs there is confusion. One would think that God is a God of confusion which of course is not true. Each and every religion can be traced back to the opinion of some man or a group of men or women.
A religion is a system governed by an organization with a hierarchy. The system is invariably a system of works. It is was we can do for God, as if He needs anything from us. Christianity is just the opposite. It is what God has done and is doing from us. We have this notion that because a religion calls itself a Christian religion that it is therefore Christian. You may call your self a car but it does not make you a car. God never told us one time to put our faith in a religion. He did tell us to put our faith in His Son, Jesus Christ and the Word of God. If someone would ask me the question, which religion is the correct religion, I would tell them that every single one of them is rotten to the core. A true Christian does good works not to become a Christian but because they are a Christian. If you can not understand that you are as lost as a goose.
This writer is of the opinion that any religion, any system or any belief that is contrary to Gods Word is wrong. There must be a final authority and it must be God Himself. No where in Gods Word do we find where we should follow a man, group of men or a system. The bible has nearly three-quarter of a million words, yet the word religion is found only 5 times in Scripture. However we are told over and over again the importance of Gods Word, which is of course, scripture.
When the apostle Paul wrote Timothy he gave instructions. He did not tell Timothy to follow a religion. Listen as I quote what Paul said. “But continue in the things which thou has learned, and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; And that from a child thou hast known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto Salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction , for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect , thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” 2Tim. 2:15-17 Not one time in Scripture are we told to follow or adhere to a religion. We are told to follow and adhere to Gods Word, the Bible.
Notice Paul is not pointing Timothy to a system, or a religion but instead to the Scriptures. Notice that Paul mentions the Word Salvation and points him to Jesus, not a religion or a system. Notice that Paul points to Scripture for instruction, not a system or religion. Notice that Paul points to Scripture for doctrine, not a system or religion. Notice Paul says that all Scripture is profitable.
Jesus put a premium on Gods Word. When talking about spiritual things Jesus said, ” It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone but by every Word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” Matt. 4:4 Notice that Jesus did not refer to a religion or system but to Gods Word as it was written. As we read Gods Word we are told over and over that we are to rely on and obey Gods Word, not a system or religion.
When we go back to the Old Testament we learn in Proverbs 30:5; “Every Word of God is pure: He is a shield unto them that put their trust in Him.” Notice that it says Gods Word and it says for us to put our trust in Him. One can not separate the Word from Him. In John 1:14 we read; ” And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, [and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,] full of Grace and Truth.” The Word of God is what we are to look to, not a religion or a system. Religions are constantly changing, Gods Word never changes. It is and has always been reliable. Gods Word teaches that God never changes and that He is the same yesterday, today and forever. Hebrews 13:8
Religions and systems change but God and His Word never changes. Religions can be very confusing. Gods Word is never confused. In 1st Cor. 14:33 it says that God is not the author of confusion. Consider the following:
RELIGION IS ONLY MENTIONED 5 TIMES IN THE BIBLE BUT
GODS WORD IS MENTIONED OVER AND OVER
1. God had Paul write in Romans chapter 3; Let God be true and every man a liar. Anything that is contrary to Gods Word is a lie.
2. David put a premium on Gods Word when He said; ”Thy Word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against thee.”
3. Psalm 119:89; “Forever , O Lord, thy Word is settled in heaven.” Gods Word is settled in Heaven, not a religion or system.
4. Jesus said; “Heaven and earth shall pass away but my WORDS shall not pass away.” [Emphasis mine]
5. The longest chapter in Scripture is Psalm 119. The subject matter is the Word of God. 176 verses all about Gods Word. It dwarfs the word religion mentioned only 5 times.
6. As a human being how are we to gain Faith in God?. Through are religion that many call their Faith? Here is what the Bible says; “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.” Romans 10:17. Not Faith in our religion but Faith by and through the Word of God, so says the Bible.
The very start of the book of scripture starts with, God spoke His word and with His Word He created the Heavens and the earth. It goes on to say that with His word God created man. It goes on to say that Satan caused Eve to doubt Gods Word and she therefore sinned.
Gods Word is the final authority. We can trust Gods Word. Those that do not read and meditate on Gods Word complain that it can not be understood. Gods Word is not confusing. Gods Word is not hard to understand.
Here is something else. Just because a church says they believe the Bible does not mean that they actually believe the Bible. Just ask questions to prove it to yourself. Do they believe that Jesus performed miracles? Do they believe the Red sea parted? Do they believe Jesus is coming back? Do they believe in some random big bang or do they actually believe Gods Word when it says, He created the Heavens and the earth?
Gods Word is Gods final revelation to man. Do you think that God simply forgot to mention a particular religion that we were to put our faith in? Those that say Gods Word is confusing are throwing an accusation against God that can not be backed up. The only way it gets confusing if words or human reasoning is added to Gods Word and God has strictly instructed us not to take away or add to His Word. God is not for religions. God is against ALL religions. When Jesus walked the earth and we read through the Gospels, we find not one good thing coming from the Saviors mouth concerning religions and the religious crowd. He called them hypocrites, vipers, snakes and much more.
God did establish the local church. You find no where the so-called universal church in the Bible unless you add words and human reasoning. A local church who is in line with Gods Word uses only the Bible for their guide and instruction. That is the way God set it up.
Christianity is a personal thing. To become a Christian one must believe Gods Word. One must believe God when He says we are on a road leading to Hell because of our sin and in order to get Saved from that awful road we must put our trust in what Jesus Christ did on the cross of Calvary.

God's Word Condemns
God's Word tells us why there is so much trouble in the world today:
"Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for THE DEVIL IS COME DOWN UNTO YOU , having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time." REVELATION 12:12
"And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out INTO THE EARTH, and his angels were cast out with him." REVELATION 12:9
The Devil does exist and he is in the world today! And he and his angels are working to DECEIVE YOU so that you might not be saved. In particular he has deceived most of the world into believing that he is a myth and does not exist. This is a DECEPTION!
"And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven." LUKE 10:18
Jesus did not have hallucinations! He SAW Satan! And all through his ministry he went about casting out demons, Satan's servants.
"As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil. And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel." MATTHEW 9:32-33
"Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw. And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?" MATTHEW 12:22-23
"And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God." MARK 3:11
"How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him." ACTS 10:38
JESUS HAS NEVER CHANGED - He is still working in this way in His church TODAY.
"And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues." MARK 16:17
Meanwhile though, the world is turning more and more to the deceptions of Satan. All over the earth people are openly turning to him and honouring him as their master - not realising that they are heading STRAIGHT FOR THE FIRES OF HELL.
God says in His Word:
"THOU SHALT HAVE NO OTHER GODS BEFORE ME." EXODUS 20:3
"...THERE IS NONE OTHER GOD BUT ONE. For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,) But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, ...and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things ..." 1 CORINTHIANS 8:4-6
"But the LORD is the TRUE GOD, he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation." JEREMIAH 10:10
This is no joke! People who are so deceived as to worship Satan or ANY OTHER GOD will suffer the wrath of the true God in His judgment through Jesus Christ. Just as the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah are set before us for an example of the consequences of sexual immorality, so the nations of Canaan, who were destroyed by the Lord before the armies of Joshua, shows us the consequence of the worship of false gods:
"And it shall be, if thou do at all forget the LORD thy God, and walk after other gods, and serve them, and worship them, I testify against you this day that ye shall surely perish. As the nations which the LORD destroyeth before your face, so shall ye PERISH; because ye would not be obedient unto the voice of the LORD your God." DEUTERONOMY 8:19-20
What were the things with which these nations provoked God to anger?
WITCHCRAFT & SORCERY: ANY use of magic is a direct challenge to God which HE WILL NOT TOLERATE. Even conjuring entertainers are playing with very dangerous things!
God's Word says:
"Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live." EXODUS 22:18
"But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers (fornicators), AND SORCERERS, and idolaters, and all liars, SHALL HAVE THEIR PART IN THE LAKE WHICH BURNETH WITH FIRE AND BRIMSTONE: which is the second death." REVELATION 21:8
ENCHANTING: The use of spells: a kind of sorcery.
DIVINATION: Fortune-telling - palmistry, Tarot cards, crystal balls, the lot!
All these things are frauds and mock God.
OBSERVING OF TIMES: Astrology and soothsaying - this includes the 'harmless' horoscopes in print throughout the nation! This is the judgment of God on the people involved in such things:
"Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee. BEHOLD, THEY SHALL BE AS STUBBLE; THE FIRE SHALL BURN THEM; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame ..." ISAIAH 47:13-14
CHARMING: Hypnotism. This is one of Satan's tricks!
YOGA: This is a mysticism from the eastern countries, giving the nations a false and Satan-inspired 'peace' -
in direct opposition to the Jesus Christ of the Bible who says:
"Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you ..." JOHN 14:27
FAMILIAR SPIRITS: People with familiar spirits are the spiritualists that claim to have contact with the dead (NECROMANCERS) or tell the future (WIZARDS, or CLAIRVOYANTS). Also MEDIUMS that claim to be able to conduct seances and the like. God condemns all such, as well as the people that deal with them or consult them!
"REGARD NOT THEM that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God." LEVITICUS 19:31
"And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people." LEVITICUS 20:6
"A man also or woman that hath a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones: their blood shall be upon them." LEVITICUS 20:27
All of these things are an abomination to the living God; so are those that do them, and their punishment is drastic. Don't let Satan deceive you into thinking that you can play with any of these things and escape the wrath of God - even horoscopes, or 'magic' spells, or a seance with your friends, 'just for kicks'. In ALL of these Satan and his angels are working, and if you become involved, God will require it of you.
"THERE SHALL NOT BE FOUND among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. For ALL THAT DO THESE THINGS ARE AN ABOMINATION UNTO THE LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them (the nations of Canaan) out from before thee." DEUTERONOMY 18:10-12
If you have been deceived and become involved in these things, REPENT and LET JESUS DELIVER YOU from the power of Satan. He is coming soon to judge the world and receive all those that love Him into His holy city for ever:
"And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. BLESSED ARE THEY THAT DO HIS COMMANDMENTS, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. For without (outside of it!) are dogs, AND SORCERERS, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie." REVELATION 22:12-15
NO-ONE ELSE can save you: REPENT NOW before it's too late!
"Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, REPENT, and BE BAPTIZED every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall RECEIVE THE GIFT OF THE HOLY GHOST. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call." ACTS 2:37-39

Tough Love Jesus
(The Jesus Most People Don't Want to see)
by David J. Stewart | October 17, 2005
As the webmaster (webservant) of Jesus-is-Savior.com, I receive lots of e-mail. At present, I am receiving a couple hundred e-mails per week (praise God!). I thank God for giving me the opportunity to reach people with the truth using the internet. It is my privilege to help people. At present, this website is receiving over 20,000 visitors weekly (80,000 now in 2009). Wow! By God's grace, the truth will continue to get out. It is a warm feeling to know that while I'm sleeping at night, thousands of people are awake on the other side of the planet finding the truth on my website. Though my souls have been reaped (brought to the Lord Jesus Christ) through this website, most of what I do is to sow seeds in people's hearts. A lot of people leave this website angry, but it gets them thinking. Sometimes you have to shock someone with the truth to get them to take the blinders off. It works! Thank you Lord Jesus for using this undeserving sinner to reach people with the truth.
One of the things that I hear quite a bit in the e-mails people send to me is that I'm not loving like Jesus. There's not a day that goes by where someone doesn't e-mail me to tell me that I'm filled with hatred, but Jesus was loving and understanding towards sinners. They accuse me of failing to be like Jesus. I would like to address such allegations against myself and others like me who stand uncompromisingly against the evils and wickednesses of our time. I would like to present to you some Biblical FACTS about the Lord Jesus Christ, facts that you've probably never heard before (or have heard, but never wanted to accept). The FACT is that Jesus was NOT always the loving pacifist that so many heathens and immature believers would like to make Him out to be.
Jesus Did Get Angry, Sometimes Even Violent!
The FACT is that Jesus did get angry sometimes...real angry...so angry that He actually fabricated a whip of cords, went into the temple, and started beating people. Jesus started flipping their tables over, hurling everything onto the temple floor. People were fleeing the temple for fear. They probably said ,"This guy has gone crazy...we're out of here!" Jesus let their doves go free (costing them a financial loss). He threw their money all over the floor...
"And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables" John 2:15
Can you imagine? Is this our Precious Saviour acting like a mad man? Yes, it most certain is. Jesus was very angry to put it mildly. What do you think would happen to someone who did today exactly what Jesus did back then in the temple that day? The person would immediately be arrested and charged with created a public disturbance, assault with a deadly weapon, trespassing, vandalism of public (private) property, etc. The judge would force the person into mandatory psychiatric counseling. If an undercover police officer were present at the time of the violent incident, the person would probably have been killed on the spot. So don't tell me about how loving Jesus was all the time. Yes, Jesus was more loving than any person who ever lived, but He also hated sin like no other...
"Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows." Hebrews 1:9
Jesus was a perfectly balanced individual, He loved righteousness and equally hated sin. Ninety-five percent of all Christians love righteousness far more than they hate sin. In fact, MOST professed Christians don't hate sin at all; rather, they live in it. Jesus did not go to gay parades and pass out pizza. Jesus never would endorse Harry Potter like Christianity Today magazine does. Jesus hated sin and preached against it.
Jesus Wasn't Hesitant to Offend People with the Truth!
- Jesus reminds a woman about her adulterous affairs
- Jesus hurts someone's feelings
"Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions." Matthew 19:21-22
The truth needed to be spoken! Jesus didn't kowtow and beat-around-the-bush. No, Jesus said what needed to be said.
- Jesus calls a group of religious people "evil" snakes
"O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh." Matthew 12:34
Wow!, Jesus called those religious people "evil." Doesn't sound like a very nice thing to do, huh? The diversity committee wouldn't have liked Jesus' outbursts of contempt and hate speech very much would they? Jesus would have been very unpopular in today's apostate world. Jesus even called them "vipers" (deadly snakes).
- Jesus calls one of His own Disciples "Satan"
"But he turned, and said unto Peter, Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men." Matthew 16:23
Wow, Peter was only trying to be a friend. Peter couldn't have been anymore sincere. Gee Whiz, you'd think Jesus would have been a little more understanding with those closest to Him. Rather, Jesus called Peter "Satan." Wow!, talk about hate speech.
- Jesus accuses one of His disciples of being "a devil"
"Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?" John 6:70
Jesus' didn't seem to regard His own family either...
"Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee. But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren?" Matthew 12:47-48
Wow!, Jesus sure had a different side to Him that most people don't see (and don't want to see).
- Jesus taught that many people will one day burn in Hell
"Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels" Matthew 25:41
Huh? Can it be? Is the Loving Saviour actually saying that people will one day burn in the torments of an everlasting fire? Yes, that is exactly true.
- Jesus said, do it my way, or burn in Hell when you die!
Wow!, doesn't sound very diversified does it...do it My way or burn in hell! In fact, Jesus was extremely adamant that there is ONLY ONE WAY TO HEAVEN...
Simply put, it's Jesus or hell. Oprah Winfrey is on the wrong path. Many people are on the wrong path. That means that the Roman Catholic Church is a false religion because they teach that the church, good works, the sacraments, the Rosary, and the blessed virgin Mary are all necessary to enter into heaven. Catholicism is a bunch of lies. Jesus proclaimed that FEW people will ever make it into heaven...
"Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Hell will be filled with religious people who mocked and scorned the precious name of Jesus Christ, while idolizing the mythical Blessed Virgin Mary. Mary didn't remain a virgin folks, she married and had children (Jesus had brothers). The Catholic Mary is a great illusion, a Satanic deception. You see friend, truth is INTOLERANT...it cannot be compromised. 1 + 1 = 2, nothing can change that. If some liar wants to teach people that 1 +1 = 3, it still doesn't change the truth. If some people are gullible enough to believe the lie, that is their misfortune; but the truth hasn't changed one bit...one plus one will always equal two.
The Truth of the Matter
After all the things I just showed you about Jesus from the Bible, you might be wondering about Jesus' character. Well, let me settle your mind, Jesus was justified in everything He ever said or did while upon the earth. According to God's Word, Jesus never sinned one time (2Corinthians 5:17, Hebrews 4:15). There was a spiritual truth, a heavenly reason, a greater purpose, behind every seemingly unkind thing Jesus ever did or said. Likewise, my website does offend many people, even appearing as "hateful" or "selfish" from a quick glance. The truth is that there is so much love invested into this website that no one apart from God Himself can possibly know my heart. I love people, but I equally love God. I love the truth of God's Word.
The problem with so many people is that they love people and things, but not God. We are living in a wicked world that speaks and sings of love, while simultaneously sacrificing God and His Word on the alter of sinful compromise. The wicked world wants to achieve unity between the righteous and the wicked, but there can be NO unity. Why? Because God's holiness cannot be compromised...God never changes (Malachi 3:6). The same God that hated homosexuality back in the Old testament hates the same abominable sin today. Christ-honoring Christians will never stop preaching against the vile sin of homosexuality (or any other sin for that matter). Why? Simply because God never changes.
Jesus expressed His love at times in unconventional manners that mad people angry or frustrated at Him. John the Baptist was the greatest man born amongst women the Bible declares (Mathew 11:11). No doubt, Jesus loved John dearly. Yet, John didn't understand why he was rotting in a prison while God incarnate was walking the earth. I mean, John had done his very best to prepare the people for the Lord's coming, now he's on death row locked up behind bars. John became discouraged and even questioned Christ's legitimacy...
"And John calling unto him two of his disciples sent them to Jesus, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?" Luke 7:19
Wow!, did Jesus even abandon His friends in time of need? We don't understand the spiritual significance of what was done, but God knows the reasons. We must maintain a complete Biblical perspective of the Saviour. It is a dangerous thing to hold to a lopsided view of the Saviour. Jesus loves people, so much that He died upon the cross for all of us (John 3:16). Yet, Jesus shelled the corn (preached hard) and spoke the truth when it needed to be spoken. Jesus was no wimp, no spineless coward, no compromiser...Jesus was a man's man, the Son of God, God incarnate. Jesus cared for others and loved His family and friends. However, love cannot supercede truth. True love occurs within the framework of truth. If love is not based upon truth, then it is not God's love. I love you enough to tell you the truth, even though I may risk becoming unpopular or being disliked for it.
So to those of you who think that Jesus never spoke a harsh word or never criticized someone else's religion...you are very wrong! Jesus was quite outspoken and didn't worry about offending people. Jesus was much rather willing to be divided over truth, than to be united by error. If you think that my website is lacking the Saviour's love, then I suggest that you read the New Testament throughly. In so doing, you will discover that the loving Saviour at times flipped over tables, threw people's things on the floor, assaulted them with a whip, and then drove them out of the building. If you don't like me, you'll hate Jesus. Jesus told some people that they would one day be weeping and gnashing their teeth after being cast into outer darkness (Matthew 8:12). You wouldn't have liked Billy Sunday either. Jesus was no respecter of persons and spoke the plain truth with apology. That's what you call "tough love." Let us follow in the Saviour's footsteps by doing the same. God deliver us from this weak-kneed generation of television believers.

God Hates Religion
Yes, God hates religion…
I will give you Biblical support for that statement in a moment.
Someone may be thinking “I thought God invented religion!” Sorry, but God invented Man and Man invented religion.
Humankind is by our very nature, (designed so by our Creator) drawn to relationships. Relationships that range from familial, to friendships, to marital as well as communal. These relationships that we don’t even think about give us insight into what God intended for us. From the time we are born we learn that the family relationship provides security and safety and unconditional love. (That is why we call God the “Father”). A healthy family creates a relationship of trust, security and encouragement. As we grow older we learn the value of a loyal friend that we can trust with our cares and stand beside us when we need help. (Jesus is referred to as the “friend that sticks closer than a brother”.) As we mature and attract a mate, we learn how marvelous the intimate relationship between a man and woman becomes, and how to depend upon and serve each other to the point of becoming “one flesh”, as the Bible states it, not only physically but emotionally and spiritually. That relationship of marriage is the pinnacle of relationship theology. This is why Jesus is called the “Bridegroom” and the “Church” (don’t get ahead of me, just keep reading!), which is the entire congregation or number of believers, is called the “Bride of Christ”.
Now, we all know that not all of our relationships always work out this nicely. I would venture to say that those relationships not working out is not because God had anything to do with them, but more than likely because we kept Him out and did what we wanted to do. In other words, the reason the relationship failed is one or both parties put self interest ahead of the other. Self. God had nothing to do with the failure of those relationships. Can a broken relationship be restored? Sure! It happens all the time, but not until those interested persons are willing to put someone else ahead of themselves. This humility of spirit, seeking and offering forgiveness and restoration is absolutely necessary for a reconciled relationship.
God created Man for the express purpose of mutual relationship with him, but gave Man the power of choice and free will. Man chose to break that relationship and has been trying to find his own way by inventing religions and cults of all kinds in an effort to replace that void left by lack of relationship with his Creator.
But relationship with God cannot be found through religion. In fact, religion is the biggest roadblock to seeking a relationship with God. Religion is simply Man trying to reach out to God by doing something that he thinks will please God. “If I can do enough, say enough, pray enough, give enough, sacrifice enough perhaps God will show me favor”. Every religion is based upon this “works theology”. Neither ceremony, liturgy, creeds, sacraments nor money have ever brought one soul into a reconciled relationship to God. Abstaining from drugs, alcohol, tobacco, illicit sex and the places that provide them is a healthy thing to do but cannot of itself restore a broken relationship with God. Giving up a favorite food or drink, reciting ‘program prayers’ or self mutilation does nothing to convince or satisfy God.
“But my denomination teaches…” Do you really believe that God favors your denomination over others? Quite the contrary, if your denomination professes to be “the only true way”, I can pretty well guarantee that it isn’t! Do you think that God’s intention was to have eleventy-five different denominations of His Church? They can’t all be right, and more than likely they’re all wrong.
Now, I realize that thus far I have been speaking in terms of Christianity. But the cults such as Islam easily fall precisely under the premise of “God hates Religion”; after all, I observe no one more committed to their religion than an Islamic Fundamentalist. Although the Muslim serves a different god (Allah is not the God of the Bible), he too is seeking to appease his god by doing. That is “works based theology” no matter how you slice it.
So you may be wondering where in the Bible it says that God hates religion. Starting in the Old Testament I will show you several references and then finish off with what Jesus Christ Himself said concerning religion.
Isaiah 1:13-14 states, “Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and Sabbaths, the calling of assemblies…it is iniquity…Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear them.”
David prays to God in Psalm 40:6, “Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire;…Burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required.”
Amos 5:21 says, “I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell (the odors of their sacrifices) in your solemn assemblies.”
Micah 6:6-8 includes; “Wherewith shall I come before the Lord and bow myself before the high God? Shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves of a year old? Will the lord be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? He hath showed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God.”
And there it is: “Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.” James 4:10.
You see, the Israelites (Jews) of the Old Testament had forgotten the relationship with God and became dependent upon the religious system of works and sacrifice and offerings expecting spiritual redemption or to appease God. But in these passages we see God Himself saying, “I don’t care how you shake and dance, I’m not interested in your religious activities, I want your heart.” In fact that is exactly what He expresses here in Isaiah 29:13, “Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honor me, but have removed their heart far from me…”(Jesus quoted this passage in Matt. 15:8-9 adding “…in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.”)
Imagine a pyramid which represents religion. The base is guilt, upon which is laid fear. Religion uses guilt and fear to incite works to appease which when applied results in pride.

Pyramid representing Religion

Pride is the capstone of religion. But as in any pyramid scheme, only a few get to the top; everyone else is trying to work off their guilt and fear. It is a bondage that Jesus confronted with a tongue lashing directed at the religious leaders of the day; the Pharisee’s of Judaism. They sought to entrap and discredit Him and asked Jesus, (paraphrasing) “Why are your disciples disregarding our traditions…” Jesus answered, “Why do you transgress the commandment of God by your tradition?…You hypocrites!”(Matt 15:1-9)
Jesus really lets them have it in Matthew 23. Talking first to the people He said (paraphrasing), “The scribes and Pharisees sit in high seats and bind heavy burdens upon you that they themselves won’t even lift a finger to bear! They make themselves look pious before men so everyone will recognize their positions.” Then turning on the religious leaders He calls them hypocrites, fools and blind, tombs full of dead men’s bones. “Every time you open your mouth death comes out!” He called them snakes headed for the damnation of hell! These were the religious leaders!
Jesus said “Come unto me… and I will give you rest.” (Matt. 11:28) Religion can’t save you; only relationship and that comes through humility and repentance. Christ says in John 10:9 “I am the door: by me if any man enter in he shall be saved…”

Relationship

Guilt is the natural state of Mankind. We are all guilty before God. This leads to fear of all kinds. Fear of being found out. Fear of failure. Fear of change. Fear of the opinion of others. But doing something good (works) will notchange the fact you are guilty. The only cure is a relationship with God through Jesus Christ who took upon Himself my guilt and fear. I am no longer guilty and can act fearlessly and rest secure that I have a relationship with God, which then enables me to “work”, that being striving to do things that honor my relationship with Him.
The works are not to gain God’s blessing in my life; but to reflect God’s blessing in my life. “We don’t do to be, we do because we are.”
The relationship with God through Jesus Christ is more perfect and full than any earthly relationships we can forge because God is perfect. Other people are not. And even though we can have wonderful relationships with one another, these pale in comparison to a relationship with Him.
As with everything in Creation, the physical (material) is a manifestation of the spiritual. The human relationship of family teaches us of the security we have in Him as the perfect Father. The friendship we experience of our most loyal friend on earth is still imperfect compared to the Friend we have in Jesus. The picture of marriage shows us the intimacy and devotion that He has for us when believers are referred to as the Bride of Christ. If you read the Song of Solomon with the King as Christ and the bride as the “Church” you will see how this works. Better yet, if you have a great marriage, you have experienced the wonderful earthly manifestation of this relationship.
But as humans, we are flawed creatures, and still struggle within these relationships on the human level. The relationship with God puts Him as the guardian of the relationship and Jesus promised “I will never leave you or forsake you.” And if your relationship with God is good, you will realize that your relationships with other people are much better. That is, indeed, the abundant life that Jesus promises.
It is impossible to work your way into a relationship with God. You must be born into it. The second birth. The spiritual birth. Religion is not the answer. Religion is the problem.
